What Sensor Excel is

Sensor Excel adds a row of soft "Flexible Microfins" ahead of the spring-mounted twin blades that defined the original Sensor — the on-pack copy describes them as gently stretching the skin so beard hairs stand upright before the blades reach them. It's the same relationship pattern seen elsewhere in this archive: an existing cartridge (Sensor) gets a named add-on feature (Flexible Microfins) without changing the core mechanism.

This entry documents two samples: a 10-cartridge box and a 5-cartridge box, both photographed front and back. Sensor Excel is catalogued here as its own profile rather than folded into the base Sensor entry, since the two currently sit as separate hub cards — the base Sensor profile is still in drafting with no samples of its own yet.

A different packaging format

Every product profiled on this hub so far — GII, GII Plus, Contour, Contour Plus, Contour Plus Lubrastrip — ships on a hanger card with a blister tray. Sensor Excel is the first sample on file in a fully enclosed carton box instead, with a single wide-wave hanger notch rather than the three-notch tab used across the Contour/GII family. That's a genuine packaging-format shift worth carrying into the cross-product packaging guide once it's written.

The front is a navy-to-silver gradient carton with a metallic "Gillette" wordmark, "Sensor" in white and "Excel" in a silver gradient, and a photorealistic (rather than line-drawn) product photo of the cartridge on its handle, with a blue circular callout zooming in on the microfins ahead of the blades. Both pack sizes carry the same "Flexible Microfins" line in English, Swedish and Finnish along the bottom edge.

Card back

The back switches to a white ground with a full paragraph of marketing copy in English, Swedish and Finnish, each closing with a bolded, market-specific tagline ("Gillette. The Best a Man Can Get," "Gillette. För män som väljer rätt," "Gillette. Parasta Miehelle"). Below that sits a "Made by" block, a distributor list, a barcode, and an ingredients line — no batch or print code is visible on either sample, unlike every hanger-card product profiled so far.

Two pack sizes on hand

Consistent with the barcode pattern established across this archive, the two pack sizes carry two different barcodes rather than sharing one — here barcode tracks pack size directly, since there's no separate batch/print code on these cartons to do that job instead.

What these cartridges fit

Both boxes state directly: "All Sensor cartridges fit all Sensor razors." That's a stronger, more explicit compatibility statement than any other sample catalogued on this hub so far — most only name their own product line without confirming interchangeability this plainly. Still logged as on-pack text rather than independently confirmed against a physical handle, but the checklist above marks Compatibility done on that basis, unlike the pending status given to the Contour/GII family entries.
